Shivani was born in India and grew up in Australia. A qualified engineer, she completed an MBA in her mid-twenties before working as a senior executive for a major company. After a life-changing trip to Nepal in 2001, she found her true passion, quit the corporate world and established her own business.
Shivani works with individuals, sole traders, and some of Australia’s top companies. Her business expertise has won her a number of awards including ‘Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year’. Like many women, she has to balance work with being a mum to four children.
Shivani’s journey from corporate warrior to business butterfly is told in her book Passion @ Work that has also been published in Mandarin.
She also dispenses her no nonsense business advice as a Fairfax newspaper columnist. In 2008 she presented Risking It All a series about small business on SBS. A big advocate of work-life balance, Shivani has also produced a CD – Meditation for Busy People.
Shivani is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) by the National Speakers Association of Australia. CSP is the highest designation awarded internationally to professional speakers.
Shivani is the CEO of Passionate People Institute, a company dedicated to creating more passionate people across the globe. She is an expert at putting passion into work, life and organisations.
She believes that in order to stay connected to your passion you have to overcome obstacles. Shivani has overcome her own obstacles including: moving to Australia at age 11 and encountering racism; working in a male dominated environment at senior management.
