Nola Anne Hennessy
is Founder and Managing Director of Serenidad Consulting Pty Ltd, a Fellow of
the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the United Nations Association
of Australia.
Born in Sydney in
1957, Nola calls 2 places homes – Australia and Texas. She is renowned for her
people skills, love of life and fun, business acumen, and enduring energy and
passion for making a positive difference. One of Rotary International’s
Inspirational Women 2011, Nola rose from a childhood of severe constraints to
become a senior manager at 16 and has three times risen to senior leadership
and the top of her chosen profession. She leads the global consultancy
Serenidad Consulting Pty Ltd in its strategic intent to facilitate peace, and
provide services and products that are a cut above the rest.
Respected widely for decades as a polished professional and expert management
consultant across all business risk domains, Nola successfully delivers up what
others call “too hard”. Nola offers unrivalled and unique experience as ‘the
CEO on the shop floor’ multiple times, is an accomplished and professional
speaker, facilitator, change agent, educator, negotiator, mediator, presenter,
interviewer and host. Since the beginnings of her public and media appearances
in the mid 70’s, Nola continually takes on the topics, issues, debates and
subjects others perceive with fear or hesitation.
Nola created Serenidad Consulting when she realized that too many companies were simply going through the motions and were not necessarily motivated to help clients for what she considered the ‘right reasons’. After 15 years previously running her own management consulting firms in the 80’s and 90’s, in early 2010 Nola formed two companies designed to provide a strong, unique and enduring structure that already benefits and will continue to benefit her clients and consulting team; and through a special trust - her family, charities, community groups, global not-for-profit, arts and environmental advocacy groups, medical and other research bodies (to name just a few). Her corporate trust has the USA’s National Resource Defense Council and Sundance Institute as beneficiaries of the royalties coming from her books, and profits arising from the Company’s consulting activities around the globe.
As a multi-award winning, “inspirational”, “spiritual” and internationally-recognized author of non-fiction works, Nola is continually motivated to help others (individuals, organizations, groups, communities and countries) to use their power in constructive and positive ways, and reach their greatest potential. Described by Price Waterhouse (1992) as a “polished professional" who will "continue to bring credit to herself and the organizations with which she is associated", Nola is most proud of the positive contribution she makes, and the change and improvement she can initiate and embed.
Nola’s repertoire of speaking topics is wide-ranging and includes great leadership, initiating and managing change, great leadership in work health and safety, strategic visioning and planning, personal and professional excellence, positive relationships, power (personal and positional), and achieving “Self Intelligence”.
Nola travels anywhere she’s needed, and gratefully accepts challenges and opportunities as a means to facilitating positive change.
